This short, classic woman's poncho is knitted in cashllama, "the finest fiber in the Andes."
Cashllama: this fiber is the result of selecting and separating the finest llama fiber. By “plucking” the llamas, producers obtain different qualities if fiber without harming the animal. They select and produce the fiber without using chemicals, so cashllama is becoming a favorite of eco-fashion designers; it is hypoallergenic, lightweight, warm and long lasting.
It is a product from Creaciones Paola, the family artisan workshop in the city of La Paz. It is knit on a domestic loom, it has a shirt-type collar and fringe from the same fiber.
